How high should I have pageviews for each month for it to be worth it getting adsense?
It depends on your subject. Some sites can make a killing with just a couple hundred uniques a day.
As you probably understand, I'm fairly new to this, and what you would describe as a "killing" is far beyond my reach as of now. I wouldn't be after payment each month or anything, just something to get me started and experiment with. As of now, I'm considering everything I do a learning experience... :)
Oh, and by the way...
With uniques, you mean Unique visitors right?
It's not hard getting confused with mixed terms when it comes to analyzing website statistics. Different programs and people use different terms... :)
Yes, unique visitors.
Hmmm... I have a little way to go then before I should even bother... :)
I recommend waiting i adding mine with barely any visitors and its kinda just a waste but i did it to experiment and to see what all this hype is about. A good time to implement it is when u get alot of traffic or once your spidered by google.
Spidered a long time ago, and it seems that visitors are slowly but surely coming more and more... :)
I guess if you have about 100 unique visitors a day, then you should make your first $100 dollars within your first 2 months, thats if your site is based on a good subject and you place the Adsense add on every page of your site.
It usually doesn't hurt much to start playing with adsense, and then building from there as they start to pull in a decent profit. Money IS money, even if it's smaller numbers in the beginning...
My sites are not very good for adsence... But I am creating a few that are...
fatnewt is right...
incka when you first ran adwords I believe you made around $50 in total? Not that much but if you invest that in new features for your games site, or just in another site you are making, then that can get visitors and more money.
But they don't pay until you reach 100$ do they?
Do you lose the money after a while if you don't reach that limit?
Yeah, you have to have $100 or more before they pay. If you don't reach that amount then you will still get the money as they pay out at the end of the year regardless of how much you've made.
I think that's quite a good idea, as some will really struggle to reach that $100 mark.
I'll be getting a nice healthy check in january then...
And I might use them for me 'default' on burst if they do 'default' ads like fastclick do.
Healthy check? I thought you only made $50 ? :)
So what... $50 is enough to buy hosting for about 3/4 months...
$50 don't sound healthy to me! If I had a $50 check sent me, I won't gain much out of it.
The main reason for this is because i'm from the United Kingdom which means that I would have to convert the check into my currency which will cost quite abit. The amount I receive will get even smaller again when I also take the tax out of it.
