Are you using Norton?
no im not, its wierd
reinstall your os
same deal with my other computer
soak both of them in water.
Have you tried editing / reseting your hosts file?
no its not my website, its generally everty website
What firewall, anti virus, router etc setup do you have? What browser are you using?
when did this happen? If you know when it happened roll back your operating system with Windows System restore.
i have a router, dlink, no firewall. Its always been like this except now I need to see the ads
Have you tried reinstalling Firefox?
Is there an ad blocking firefox extension? Perhaps someone installed it? Have you tried a different browser?
Are the websites themselves blocked?
Can you visit fastclick.com? Can you see fastclick ads?
You did check your hosts file right? Thats the most likely culprit I think.
START>RUN>CMD
tracert someadserverthatyoucan'tsee.com
Do the above and paste the full read out here.
no thats the thing I cant see fastclick, casale or interclick ads, sometimes I see tribalfusion, its very annoying. I also bought a new computer, it still doing the same thing
But you can view their websites?
yep I can see their sites, it's very annoying now that I cant see stupid ads
A lot of people'd like to be in your position; it's the reason that things like Firefox's AdBlock extension exist.
Whats your ISP? Don't some block ads?
Ya thats my guess, that its blocking on the ISP level -- which honestly might result in a lawsuit. Its one thing for a user to make a decision on what to view or not, but an ISP, I think an ISP rendering parts of your site unfunctional is crossing the line -- plus that ISP might end up having all of it's customers banned from sites that fight back.
hmm, ill call my friends who have the same net, and check it out
do you connect through a router by chance?
yea, dlink
My D-Link DI-604 doesn't have this issue.
You can setup blocking in most routers though, so they could be blocked at that level. Might want to try connecting directly just to be sure.
