UK people (and those willing to travel;)) - What do you think of a get-together of WSP-ers? No idea on any specifics (where/when), but am interested in people's ideas and opinions.
Could be fun, and we could all hold Incka down and pinch him.

i thought that said punch originally, was about to book a plane ticket... ;-)
Well, I won't be dictating the event schedule :p
I think we should leave this kind of stuff untill there is a really active forum, dont ya think?
I consider this an active forum. Sure, not on the level of (say) Sitepoint, but I'm also not suggesting a fully-fledged convention. More like getting together for a drink :)
*shrug* Just an idea.
I like your idea, but do you really think its going to happen? I'd be surprised if you managed to hook up with 3 people in this forum (unless they're ya everday friends)
I give up.
Sounds like a good idea to me (I'm a little more enthusiastic than piniyini :) ), just a bit of a drive for everyone - good if we were all in London or something.
5 or 6 hours driving is a bit much for a drink.
I know these guys: http://www.a4uforum.co.uk/ have regular get togethers though. I think Affiliate Window, CJ, Google etc go along to their conferences as well.
I agree it is a good idea and that the scale could fit the number of people interested.
r2 where in the UK are you?
And you, Blue?
If it's in Sunderland in 2 month I'll go as I'm already going to meet 2 web devs up there then...
Surrey, near Guildford - Quite close to you Mark, I think?
Indeed :) And I work in Ashtead, which is even closer. Heh.
I haven't even met Mike and he lives about 5 miles from me...
Im in Worcester, just south of Brum on the M5 - about 130 miles, 3hrs from London... A lot more to Sunderland :)
Sounds a good idea, not sure if I'd go if it was in London though...
Oh, and I'm in Yorkshire :)
My uncle once lived there. I can't remember that much about Ashstead itself, just the area around my uncle's - is it just a small town? If so, do you work anywhere near a train crossing (down the road from a One-Stop shop?). After all that it's probably huge and you don't have a clue where I'm talking about :pQuote:

Ashtead's only a small village, AND I work in the quiet end (so it's even more boring than usual).
Hehe :) He used to live on the other side of the train crossing, the side with just fields and a dead end basically.
My cousins live quite close to it still, in Epsom.
Heh... I've always liked Ashstead, wish he still lived there.
So how big is the UK, exactly? Like a very very big trip (as in over 30-40 hours) to drive from top to bottom?
Maybe 12 to 15 hours from John O'Groats to Land's End (top to bottom).
<offtopic>
Not that far, really - I've driven that far in one go a few times :) But I'd rather not. Heh.
