I`m gonna get another monitor here soon.. been so busy haven't ordered, and am waiting for coupon.
I know it will help productivity for me since I`ll be able to code on one screen and constantly refresh the view in IE/FF on the other browser.
I remember my friend doing this a couple years ago. That was the first time I'd ever seen it done. I have a couple old school monotors lying around, I should give it a try. I'm sure it would increase my productivity since I am constantly swiching between screens and usually have about 367 things open at once. Give or take a little.
One thing I've been using before this is Litestep. It has a virtual desktop built into it so there are four "virtual" screens you can easily swap between. The downside is that you can see more than one at a time.
So far this is working nicely. However, I think I'd rather have one of those big widescreen lcds so that my image isn't cut down the center.
My 17" is getting real old, to bad I am poor and can't even afford 1 new monitor... :(
Someone has a lot of extra money lying around.
Hmm I have 3 extra 17'' monitors in this room. I should go 2 rows 2 columns of screens :D
Photoshop / Notepad / Firefox / MSN
Those look like relatively cheap monitors.. like $1k for all or less.
Not enough for a mouse mat though :rolleyes:Quote:

Does anyone else here always have an obnoxious number of programs/windows open at once? At any given time I usually have 12-14 windows open, plus Firefox which has a minimum of 10 tabs open. Its a huge mess, even with two monitors!
I try tok eep it to a minimum.Quote:

Looking at my desktop now I have..
Firefox (8tabs), Thunderbird, Ultraedit, PS, Filezilla, Bitlord
Thats about the norm :)
I was thinking that four monitor setup would be more around $2000.00
It would be around here, at least.
For me, even $1000 would be a lot of extra money for something like that. I usually have about 4 webpages loading at once (dial up :( ) and probably about 2 or 3 more just kind of chilling that I'm looking at. I usually have msn up but rarely have it set where people can see I'm on. I also usually have a couple other programs open so I guess I'm guilty of having a bunch of junk open too.
