Hey Chris
Any plan on opening up the vBulletin RSS feed for the forums, for users to subscribe to? It'd be a nice way of quickly checking through the day whether there are any new threads.

Hey Chris

Its included by default with vb? I don't know much about it.
You need to enable it in your admin options. Then you can access the feeds via URL (or subscribe to them using an RSS reader for example).
Also a cool way of including the latest threads in external pages.
vB control panel -> vBulletin Options -> External Data Provider -> Enable RSS Syndication.
There's also a code snippet floating around somewhere that you can put in your header to let RSS readers (like Firefox) know that there is an RSS feed available for the site. Firefox users will then see an RSS icon that they can click on to subscribe to the feed.
I read yesterday that a good way to get a new site spidered and indexed quickly was to include an RSS feed. This was in relation to Yahoo. <shrug>

Nice avatar Chromate, obviously very heartfelt
What feedreader do you use Mark? Ive never got to grips with them to date
I just use Firefox. I like to keep the number of apps I use at any one time to a minimum :p Although I've used Feed Demon (?) in the past.
I turned it on
lol yeah, it is a bit :) Just so everyone is clear, it's NOT me in the picture (I'm only 24) ... though, I suppose it could be in a few years time at this rate. hahaQuote:

Chris, thanks :)
Guys, you can access the feed here:

In Firefox, go to Bookmarks manager, create new live bookmark (under File), and then just put the URL in :)
I'm going to test that in Firefox, never knew you could do that.
Good luck with your project MarkB looks like a nice challenge!
