I'm devoloping a site for a customer who wants to have streaming audio and/or video featured from multiple locations. On the site side, I realize this is not much more than a plug in, but what is required at the transmission location? (computer, camera, etc.) Thanks!

You need a camera, and software on the local machine. A high end web cam should come with the appropriate applications.
You also need a high bandwidth connection to the Internet - Cable or DSL at a minimum. Many cable services are governed at upload speeds of 128k so a high end DSL with speeds both ways of 256k or 512k might be a better bet.
Lower quality streaming could be done with lower bandwidth.
One service you might want to check out is x10.com -- they sell some prepackaged systems (camera & software) to put streaming video up. Its not that high quality though (but if you're on a budget I'd look into it).
