I'm trying to develop a new website, but I am not sure how to go about putting it together. Basically, I am trying to create a website where people can go and find cooking specialists based on criteria.

Can anyone help me figure out the best way to put the site together? Is there a software application that already does something like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If by cooking specialists you mean guiding your site visitors to websites of cooking specialists, then you should be looking for a directory script. There are plenty of quality scripts out there, both free and paid, which can serve this purpose.

Not that I know of. You would probably have to alter a pre-existing script that is used for another application. IE, there is realty script, if you can believe it, that a recent client altered to work with used car sales. Just alter the branding.
