Hey, i am running through my first website and have just put ads onto it. The site is about golf, mainly comprising of some short free lessons. Some of the ads however are about health care plans, credit loans and investments. There are some about golf, but these are in the minority. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to get more golf related ads on my site?

Cheers

Is this adsense ads (or similar context related adds)? If so you may need more related content on the page to help the spiders determine the ads to serve.

These are google ads? Well, it could be how your content is setup, but also as your site gets older/more established Google will fine tune what ads they are.

yeah, sorry forgot to say it was adsense. They are sorted a bit now, more golf related ads. Also not sure on how many ads to put on pages. The site is www.weekendgolfer.co.uk. Would be most appreciated if you give me some feedback on the ammount of ads ect. I will be moving the position of the ads and might make the site more colourful.
Anyway, Thanks.

The AdSense link unit needs to be pushed down a couple of pixels.

You should put an advertisement within the content. I suggest you study this (https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=17954) page.

You have changed the design almost overnight, certainly since I last looked the other day. looks good. No ads so cant see if they are picking up the golf theme yet or not.

Yeah sorry, deided it was too dark. Have put ads in the lessons section so far, but still unsure about the homepage ect. I have heard it can be good not to put ads on your home page, but i dont know weather the potential gain balances out the potential loss. So, I would lose the revenue from hits on my homepage, but more people might visit the site again. Hmmm, advice please!

Edit: Also, I used adsense to generate code for a banner ad. I then placed that ad at the top and bootom of the page. Is this the best way to do this or is is better to have two seperate banners?

I would have thought they they were not targeting your content properly or the pages that you were seeing the incorrect targeted ads on where not that popular or it was the first time you had gone to them.
