Autoresponder Type Script?

I'm not sure if this is available out of the box, in fact I'm not really sure if the title is correct - but I'm looking for a script where people can signup with their email address, then they are sent a series of pre-written emails over a set period of time - is there such a thing available?

If you want to host the script yourself you will need to set up a cronjob. The script itself shouldn't be difficult, if there aren't premade ones easily available (haven't looked so not sure).
