Noticed this morning many of the pages on my site are PR4, which Im very pleased about :) (First PR update for this site)

Seems quite a lot though? Mustnt grumble though I guess :)

Some of my sites, with no backlinks, are PR4 or better (before today). Will have to go check whether it's been 'righted' or not :)

/edit

DOH :( Although my main domain (hub) has gone back to a 6, my new CC site which I'm aiming to be my main earner has fallen from 5 to 3. Most other sites have fallen 1 or more PR spots as well. This isn't surprising, just sad!

Hopefully, having 6 for my MB domain will help push some more PR to my CC site on the next update?

Where are your sites, if you dont mind me asking? How come you dont put them in ur sig? I think most of my PR must have come from here :)

How can you check PR without the toolbar?

Ask someone... :) Sean Spurr and games2go are PR5, all others are PR4 - on the homepages that is...

Or someone just put a thread in this forum about another way to check it without the toolbar.

Yes! Thank you!

I can't get the toolbar here as I am on a public computer. I'll look when I get home for others sites.

Is even Debt Management Guide and Go With Satellite a PR4?

DaveM

Gareth asks what the PR of www.incka.com/gareth is.

r2d2

Yep, lots of other pages at debtmanagement are PR4 also, homepage of satellites is PR4, most otheres are PR3.

What about games2go's category pages (IE: Adventure) and the games (IE: Adventure Elf)

r2d2

Categorys mostly 4, and games mostly 3...

incka
01-26-2004, 01:19 AM
Mostly 4, does that mean some are 5 or some are 3?

And what PR has www.playflashgames.net? (The site games2go and 3bgames are in a network with)

I used to have them (or some of them) in my sig, but I removed them to cut down on traffic that wasn't generated by people actually looking for my site subjects ;)

Anyway, my sites are:

www.markbridgeman.com
www.ultimatemetal.com *
www.mygroovywedding.com *
www.lowinterestcards.co.uk
www.buymetal.net
www.charityindex.org

Those are my main ones, anyway. Ones marked with an * have been established for a few years each, so google PR is not something I'm very worried about. It's the cards site that is my main concern. Out of 15 affiliate clicks (from banners, links etc) I've had 3 sales. Which are pretty good odds :) I just wish I could get 15 clicks a day ;) Instead of per month :-\

ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

And judging by my toolbar here at work, these forums have lost all PR altogether...?

/edit - my mistake, I was looking at the wite with the www prefix. The forums WITH the www prefix has a PR of 6 here.

Nice :)

Yeah I can understand that :) Think I get more traffic from here and sitepoint than actual useful traffic

As for suggestions for the card site, check out the keyword suggestion tool at digitalpoint to see what are popular search terms, then optimize for those I guess :)

I would put the URL in my sig with the most popular relevant search term as the anchor text, just to build PR, and show Google thats what ur site is about... Thats what I'd do anyway :)

Having just looked, I think finishing the site would be first priority before trying to increase traffic - got "Sorry, this page is still being developed..." on lots of pages...

Thanks for that, Mr R2 :) I guess you're right, I'll add the site back into my sig.

I've also placed an 'ad' for it on my wedding site - since we have 90% UK users (who are all probably paying for their weddings on credit;)) I figure it might be worth it. Text ad as well, so perhaps I'll get some relevant PR and click-thrus from it.

Cheers mate!

90% UK traffic... Umm... Potential Advertising Opotunity... ICQ me... I'll post my number in a second...

Grrr, I haven't even got PR for MP3 Player Reviews. Really strange seeing as I submitted well over a week ago.

MarkB

I would think sites submitted a week ago wouldn't see any hot PR action until the *next* update? (in 2 weeks?)

incka: if you have a genuine advertising offer, please email mark@mygroovywedding.com with information. BTW - we don't do pop-ups, pop-unders or downloads...

incka

OK, it's a download, so...

Probably not Mark, but the funny thing is that I haven't seen googlebot on my site yet. Is that normal?

MarkB

No idea... I know my buymetal.net site took weeks to be visited and indexed, and then another month before it was crawled thoroughly...

incka

Submit loads of pages. That works for me.

Mike
01-26-2004, 10:00 AM
I have too many pages to submit though, millions.

incka

Get an auto submit program.

Mike
01-26-2004, 11:32 AM
I don't think google like you using them though.

r2d2

Just submit your homepage every two days. Thats what I did with my site. Got indexed in about 6 days I think.

No need to submit anything else, Google will find it all from the homepage.

What happend to MrTvsEverything.com from your sig?

r2d2
01-26-2004, 12:07 PM
Dunno, just decided to remove it... Its not mine or anything, just had me laughing for days when I found it, so felt I had to share the comedy :)

When I say days, I do mean days. I'd just randomly think of the whole thing and start laughing :D Its so funny!

Though about doing my own, putting it on my site, then getting some PR from all the sites that would link to it... cheeky?

Defiantly make your own Mr T site. It suits your avatar.

When I saw that site I thought you were called Katie... :o

r2d2

:p Thats kinda why I removed it too :)

Yeah might have to make one some day... ;)
