I remember the site back in 2000 - I believe it had less than 100 articles :). The original owner the sold it to investors a few years later and now it sold again for $250 million. Somebody made a lot of money ;).

I love that site! I have been reading it since they started the website.

Yes, definitely someone made some big money there.

This is what I was thinking. Very rarely is it the creator of a site that actually makes the big money. It always seems to be some intermediary who truly makes the gold.

I wonder if Discovery would want to buy my site for a cool $250 million. :p

I used to visit that site years ago. It's a great, high quality website.

Won't you take 25m? I could live with that :)

It would be tempting I have to admit. At the same time I've been building my site for 12 years and it has become part of my identity. In a way, selling my site would be like selling my soul.

When you put it like that, i can see what you mean. I totally understand the attachment someone can get with a website, specially one were you worked 12 years! It's pretty impressive to find a site that has been online so long. You probably started the site almost when the internet was made public and popular.

But now i have to ask...if selling your site is like selling your soul...is your soul for sale? :)

For $250 million, I'd have to think hard before answering.:p

I can see where you're coming from, but for 25m, all I'd need to know is where to sign. :)
