http://www.mp3playerreviews.net

I launched it last night. The design isn't that good, but it's the content what matters on a AWS site.

MattM suggested something down the left, but I'm not quite sure what. I was thinking about adsense ads, but that may defeat the object of having a AWS site in the first place. Anyone got any ideas?

All the amazon pictures have a white background - Where you are having them is aqua. This makes the site look abit unprofessional. You need more contrasting colors. And if you are having that watermark, as someone already suggestioned, make it more watermarked and make the background white.

Oh:

This page : http://www.mp3playerreviews.net/music-sources/cds.php

Has a menu item for MP3 file sources, while the other pages do not.

Yeah, I do think there should be something down the left. Just use the darker blue color to fill the space in.

Also, the white background for each image kind of blends a bit with the site background. How about putting a border around each image? Use CSS.

When you view each item in detail, there's no back button to return the user to the previous page. Just add something with javascript <a href="javascript:history.back(-1)">Back</a>

I would also give the background image you're using a little blur. At the moment I can see where it's been compressed as a JPG.

Thanks for the input so far - I have done nearly everything you said chromate, and imo it looks better, so thanks:) The only thing I didn't do was change the background below the menu, it didn't looks right when I changed it to a dark colour.

The CD's page now works incka, ta:)

That's an interesting piece of patio furniture (http://www.patio-furniture.info/products/B00005NAUI) you've got there, Mike. ;)

Fine for me, I found the problems you had with it last night before you launched it...

Nice site Mike. I just noticed it in your sig on another post and went to check it out since I'm looking for an mp3 player for my wife. What did you use to set this up? Did you use a prewritten script, the AWS article here, or code it yourself?

You asked about suggestions to add to it: how about affiliate links to sites where you can pay to download mp3's? You could put these in the blank area on the left side, and/or incorporate them into an article discussing both the legal and illegal ways to get mp3 files. This way, you'd get the freeloaders excited about buying an mp3 player for the free music, and you'd show the "law-abiding citizens" that mp3 players can be used by honest people too.

BTW, I just ordered a Rio Cali 128 MB Sport MP3 Player (http://www.mp3playerreviews.net/products/B0000AQIFW) through your site for the wife's birthday.

Heh thanks Westech, that's the first mp3 player I've sold through it! I've sold around 30 other things, but none of those are MP3 players :)

I was going to create a category under music sources, called MP3's. Here I was going to put searchfeed. But after your suggestion I think I'll make more with affiliate links, so when I've got time I may add them:)

Thanks,
Mike

No problem Mike. I just hope it arrives on time for her birthday so I stay out of trouble!

Also, what script do you use for the site?

Oh yeh sorry, I found a tutorial (through chromates help) on devshed. It had to be customized a bit but I'm pleased with the outcome:)
