Just be patient.. even once google knows about your site, it'll take 6-12 months to get any decent serp placement.

it took us around months to be indexed by google too...

but it will come... i agree with the 6-12months....

there a lot of sites being indexed by google and they really take time to assess EVERYTHING in your site before you get indexed

you are confusing 'search engine friendly', with just being indexed in a search engine.

How can a search engine even tell what your site is about? Search engines cant read images..

Again, it may take a couple of weeks. You're getting worked up over a completely irrelevant thing as far as im concerened. Build more links to your sites if you want to indexed faster.

As has been suggested in other threads, submitting a sitemap to Google can be a good thing to do (especially for a site that launches with few backlinks).
