More separation between sites. Harder for someone to figure out what other sites you own. Possibly for interlinking.
Didn't google clear it up that it makes no difference to them

Chris stated the main reasons. Also, some things such as SSL or various software may require a dedicated IP.

Yes... but...
We don't know for sure about Yahoo, MSN, & ASK. And Google could always change their mind. As cheap as IPs are, if you have larger/important sites, its worthwhile.

How much does it normally cost to get a unique ip address?

With Ev1 I get 8 free per server, and additional ones at $1 per month.

Another good reason to have a unique IP per-site and setup RDNS is e-mail. Big providers like AOl block e-mail unless the IP resolves to your domain.
Softlayer advertisers their IP's at $1/each but I ordered 32 and got them for .50 so maybe try to workout a deal with yur provider. Resell/Retail on IP's is $7-$15 per-IP depending where you are at so that could add-up quick.
Another reason to have a unique IP per-site is incase a school or someone bans your IP your other sites wont be banned,
So where can you buy IP's from?
My host sells them - but you have to fill in a usage form to explain usage...
Is there a website where I can buy them?
No, your host would have to supply them.
