mod_rewrite help please!

Hi. I'm just trying to start mod_rewrite for NON-SQL pages (load gets way to high and using phpmyadmin wastes so much time, I'm going for static pages).

I've managed to convert:

/article-topic.php into /article-topic

but I'm having problems changing:

/article-topic-subpage-name.php into /article-topic/subpage-name

It's just showing the article-topic.php page

does anyone know what I should do?

Solved: because /article-topic was showing article-topic.php then any url like article-topic-subpage.php was also showing it because it contains /article-topic. The fix is to rename the subpage perhaps to article.topic-subpage.php then it works.
