Can anyone remember when they applied to join Tribal Fusion if they got an automated email back acknowledging their application? I just applied, but haven't received any email from them yet, so I'm wondering if I entered me email address correctly.

Also, if you're not accepted, do they even bother to get back to you to let you know why?

but, did you get any confirmation email after you applied to say they "received your application" or anything to that effect?

What site are you appling for chromate?

Carbohydrate Counter. It's getting close to 10k page views a day now.

I'm only advertising on one page at the moment with AdSense. I need to cash in on the other pages too now. But I want some decent ads, so I'm hoping TF will have me :) Not sure if they'll be happy with my kind of site though. I'll just have to wait and see I guess.

May I ask if most of your traffic is from search engines?

chromate

Yeah, it's all from search engines.

TF still haven't got back to me :( Can anyone give any indication of how long it normally takes for them to get back to you?

It took about 1 business day for me.
Im just waiting for them to turn the paying ads on

I only applied yesterday evening, so maybe I'm being impatient.

It's just that I'm missing out on what could be an extra $10 a day or more. "Come on TF, get a move on !!" :)

Yes I can't wait for them to turn the paying ads on. My rep seems to answer emails once a day.

Is Tribal Fusion the next best thing to Adsense or are their better programs that Tribal Fusion?

Depends what you're after. I just want quality banners that pay well.

At the moment I'm using FastClick. They're supposed to be good for popunders but I think their banner CPM rates are pretty low. I tried Burst, but all I seem to get are defaults all the time. The amount of ad campaigns they have running seems pretty poor to me, even if they do pay slightly higher than FastClick's. Burst's user interface absolutely sucks compared to FastClick's too.

I'm hoping TF will provide me with quality ads that pay well. Still no word from them yet though, so I doubt I've been successful. Or maybe they're just busy.

I'm not really looking for anything as I already use Adsense on my site.

I was just wondering, just incase something happended to Adsense one day and I had to quickly find a new affiliate program that works in the same way as google (pays per click thru).

I didn't get accepted into Tribal Fusion, but they responded pretty quickly.

Searchfeed can be adapted to function like adsense in all ways except targetting. With SF you manually specify which keywords you want to target (Whereas Google analyzes your content and decides). Both methods have their pros and cons depending on the type of site you have.

Wow... Today my CPM with tribalfusion is about $1 more then what it usually is.

Anyone else's?

Chris

Not really.... TF has been serving very high defaults for me lately. Its disheartening. I made more off SearchFeed yesterday than TF.

I agree, Searchfeed is a good ppc search engine to promote!

Do searchfeeds links pass on PR?

Chris

They're javascript generated and then go through a couple redirects so no.

I just got turned down from TF. They said they were really interested in including my site but they would like me to have a little more traffic first. Right now I get about 1.2k uniques a day but they said my alexa ranking looked low. Not too bothered as I'm doing alright with fastclick.

Mike

So TF use alexa to see what your traffic is like?

BTW chromate, i've pm'd you.

chromate

Not sure if they always do. But they did with me at least.

That kinda suprises me. Alexa has proven to be quite easy to circumvent. Perhaps if you just made a unique site and messed around with your Alexa ranking it would be easy to get into TF.

But then, you wouldn't have the traffic to earn anything.

DaveM

I don't think they used Alexa when judging my site's traffic, because my alexa rating overall was quite high I think about 900,000, Only reason being though because the site was new and the first few weeks were quite dismal, although the rank for "today" and "this week" were a lot better.

Either way, I can't believe that they would weight Alexa rankings as a huge part in their admittance.

Yeah, you can buy software that automatically boosts your Alexa ranking.

Yeah, I've also seen the software that you can buy to make your alexa ranking steam ahead. Not that I would use it!

Mike
01-16-2004, 09:35 AM
Seems a bit unfair if you can boost it like that then.

I hate Alexa... They have my site so wrong... And the image of it is 6 months out of date...

john190

When I first found out about Alexa, I used to think that it was a very good idea and I really liked it. But a few months on, things have really changed.

I really don't think Alexa is as good as I first thought it was.

Some of the reasons for this is because a lot of their information is not accurate and is also outdated.

For example, My websites thumbnail is also well outdated, Alexa's statistics for my site has been all over the place this lately, etc.
