As a hobby i have created my first website
which i am using as an introduction to HTML etc.

The address is...

www.northumberland-coast.co.uk

Can any members of the group give comments / advice
on future improvements i can make?

Many thanks and best regards___Neil.

You've done an excellent job! It's your first site, you should be really pleased with it. The only thing I would say is that maybe the links down the left could be made text links instead of graphics. You could build the graphics "around" each text link so you wouldn't use the sign post effect - but this is only a minor comment in the interest of search engine optimization and load time. Also, make sure you give your images "alt" descriptions, particularly if you're relying on graphics for links. eg <img src="beadnell.gif" alt="beadnell" />

But, well done!

Yeh, to say that is your first site it's brilliant!

I agree with chromate on the links down the left though. There's an article on websitepublisher about faking graphical links that maybe of interest to you.

But I do like the idea of having it look like a sign post though. Try and keep that :)

WOW... Great site... Keep the menu - Just link to the pages in text at the bottom of the page too.

I would say where you have your "location maps" on the upper-right, open as a bigger window with scrollbars (or simply open it as a new window) since the maps are fairly large.

Nice one on your first try!
