I've seen several posts in which somebody said they program their own CMS, and it doesn't take all that long. I'm finding it a bit more complicated, but that's because I'm noo.

I'm wondering which WYSIWYG editor you use, or whatever method is most efficient for adding articles. None of them seem to have everything. My geekiness almost makes me want to use wikitext, but I'm resisting that temptation. I don't want to have to hand code articles, but I would like an efficient editor with some of the interlinking capabilities of wikipedia and simple formatting options as well.

I have always been a fan of widgeditor (http://www.themaninblue.com/experiment/widgEditor/) but I've come to find out it doesnt work in Safari.

FCKEditor is just about the best free WYSIWYG editor out there as far as I'm aware. I've used it in a couple of projects. The only problem I've had with it is setting it up for handling images in a multi-user environment.

But in general FCKEditor is awesome. ... MUCH better than the costly Editize, which I have also used and found to be slow and clumsy.

Yeah, i also think FCKeditor is one the best editors.

What problem did you have with handling images in multi-user environment? Because if you are talking about uploading images to a specific user folder or something...it's pretty easy to do.

I can't exactly remember because it was ages ago since I used it. But it was something like that. It could have actually been editize that I had the problem with. I seem to recall it had a lot to do with javascript, and I'm rubbish with that. :)

I use WYSIWYG Pro (http://WYSIWYGPro.com) in my CMS. I've been satisfied with it.

For the CMS's I have made for my site, I've usually made one myself. I didn't really know of the ones you've mentioned, so I found anarticle at DevArticles/ (http://www.devarticles.com/c/a/HTML/Building-a-WYSIWYG-HTML-Editor-Part-1/) that gave a good walkthrough on it.

The ones above probably give much better results, but for anyone who only needs a basic one this is what I use. Also, they tell you how to link it with your database etc, which saved some time.
