Both my new sites, getting from PR0 to PR3 in less than 3 week after launching. And I have more than 20 keywords top rank top 10 position. Here is a quick guide of what I did to make this happen:

1) Search engine submission to google, yahoo, msn, etc.
2) Directory submission.
3) Public relation. I joined few forums, and put my site on the signature.
4) Place this site URL to my other site footer.
5) Join link exchange.

Couple hour a day on the new site, wahlaa… PR3. Indeed I have 2 other site that scores PR2 in the almost same period. It works for me.

I was previously begging to know how to get PR fast, can’t find a good tips. Here I experience it, and hope this might be useful for those that look for fast PR for new site.

How are you measuring your PR? If you have a link from say a PR5 site, you'll get spidered pretty quickly and will gain at least some internal PR that way.

I personally don't submit to most directories because most directories exist solely to accept submissions, not to provide information, meaning they are useless. I don't think such directories count for much.

Similarly, I don't do link exchanges unless of course I think the link is a good one.

All my sites (with PR*) are at least a 3*, without doing anything (except for a temp site-wide link on my oldest site until each engine hits the new site, then I remove the sitewide, and may/may not keep it up at all).

New sites usually get a 2-3* by the next toolbar update.

I've found it hard to get past 4* without a little effort (which is why they're all 3*-4*, lol).

* going strictly by the toolbar

That's pretty impressive results for 3 weeks. Are you linking to your sites from any other sites or just the search engines and link exchange? I always thought link exchanges wouldn't really help your pagerank... Are the link exchanges you're using relevant to your sites' topics?

I believe the link exchange you are doing is link with PR 5 and above. Your content may also play a part as well.

While exchanging links take care you don't link to any linkfarm or spamy site,
backlinks from relevant site with high PR will get you on the top quickly...

There is no need to submit you site at Google/yahoo... let them crawl your site from other sites where your links are presents, this will help you.

- any links can help you to get high page rank or to rank well in search engines but the value of this links differ from one direct link to exchange links.
- posting forums and submit articles are the best way but they need time, it is not important to get quikly a high page rank but the most important that you rank well and you get this position for ling term.
