Great site Chris, i'm sure you'll sell a lot to those who are interested in that sort of thing - as they look real cool.

Who is your supplier?

Chris

United Cutlery... I am trying to get a second supplier though.

Ya Dolphin, that one is cool. Thats why its completely sold out everywhere.

Logged on at school and friends liked this one best:

One (who is a lord of rings fanatic) is considering buying one...

How do you find a supplier by the way Chris?

Chris

I spent months looking for suppliers believe it or not. I bought one of those wholesale lists you see on Ebay (waste -- but only $12). I spent hours and hours searching in Google... finally found two.

United Cutlery makes really nice high quality blades. This other company that has not yet sent me their catalogue makes lower quality stuff but they have a better selection -- they also make helmets, chainmail, shields, things of that nature.

By the way, that Witchking one your friend likes is the longest one available I think. 54 inches.

Thanks, will tell him tomorrow.

And do you actually have all the products with you, or when the user orders do you order it?

Sorry about all the questions...but I really like the idea of the site.

I have a small amount of stock on hand (2 of each sword)... not much because I simply don't have room in my apartment. If the idea takes off I'll rent some storage space somewhere.

Thanks for all info...

Keep us updated on how it goes!

Looks like you've sold quite a few from looking at your bestseller chart - is it going well?

Chris
08-14-2003, 06:58 AM
quite well.

I still have some kinks in my oscommerce system that I need to work out -- but its going well overall.

I've got #1 ranks for

"lord of the rings swords"
"kit rae"
"hadhafang"
"glamdring"
"narsil"
and a bunch of other searches related to my products.

Its actually getting around three thousand page views per day now.

 - already! Well Done!

With the release of the DVD I'm getting a ton of sales -- like 5 a day. Its nice but kinda hectic as I'm having trouble keeping things in stock.

5 a day

I take it you will be renting some more storage space out now then. Are most of those sales coming from the "lord of the rings swords" search on google?

Chris

I wouldn't say most are coming from any search. The ROI software I'm using is pegging sales to a wide variety of searches.

Mike

ROI?

Chris
08-30-2003, 08:28 AM
return on investment.

Basically seeing who originally refers not just traffic, but traffic that makes purchases.

Ah right, quite a clever little tool then.

How many in total have you sold now?

Chris

75 or so

And how many days has it been online?

Chris

Well when did this thread start?

It finally got listed on Google only around mid August though.
