Hi all,

If a site links to you from all of it's pages, how will the search engines interpret this? Do they think it's spam and disregard it, or is it much more beneficial than a link from just a page.

Thanks,
Mike

Site wide links tend to be discounted some, exactly how much or by what factor is unknown, although they do help and still remember too that context matters. Also, all the PageRank is still passed. So you can launder and reuse that PageRank.

IMO you should not have all the links from other site on a single page, try to distribute them all over the site depending on the relevancy of the linking page, then there would be no problem.

So if you have one site that links to you from its home page, then another that links from every page, which would you prefer? This being if both sites are similar in terms of PR etc...

Definitely every page. More links is always better.

The concept is that 1000 links from 1 site to you isn't as good as 1 link from 1000 sites to you, but 1000 links from 1 site to you is certainly better than 1 link from 1 site to you.

Get it?

No matter from where the link is from only take care it should be from relevant page of other site to relevant page on our site.
Relevancy is important factor while linkexchange.

I mean, if linking page is having content on beauty tips then we should placed it at our page having some beauty related top.

Don't go behind large number, try to have high PR--relevant backlinks.

The problem is that you will not be able to vary anchor text. So if a site has10 000 pages, you will gain 10 000 links but they will share the same anchor text. I would be a little uncomfortable with this.
Asides from the value/"devalue" of site wide links, they can bring a good amount of traffic depending on the site and link placement.

yahoo will count every links in. but not google.
basically, your site can not control how people is linking in.
no penalty for this. i tried with 600+ incoming link from second website to primary site. still ok.

Google will count them but not report all of them. They also don't consider every link equal.
