Do banner exchange websites really work? if they can provide any valid traffic what are some good sites for it.

Yes they work, but the average banner click-through ratio is less than 1%... So, say you join a banner exchange with a 2:1 credit ratio. You need to display 2000 banners on your site to earn 1,000 on other sites. Of those 1,000, you'll average less than 10 new visitors. That's not going to add up to much unless you serve a large number of impressions, in which case you don't really need a banner exchange as you've already found a promotion method that works, and you could better use that space for paid advertising.

I would stay away from Banner exchanges. My reason for this is because search engines look badly on banner exchanges. My website is http://www.yournitelife.com and I would much prefer my website to rank well in google than to be getting clicks from banner exchanges. You should work on having the content of your website well written and have a good website site map and layout and you will receive more clicks from search engines than you will ever receive from banner exchanges.
