What is the best way to research domain name keywords before picking a domain?

Lets say I've got two domains in mind:

1. monstertruckrally.com
2. bigtruckrally.com

Of these two hypothetical names, how would I find out the one with the better keywords? Go to a keyword tool like Overture and type in each name separately and see which comes back with more searches? Or another way?

Ok thanks. I wasn't sure to do that or use each word separately like test "monster" then "truck" or like you said "monster truck".

Thanks

IMO you should use first less popular keywords and start building your site around that,
don’t go behind keywords instead build a brandname site. It will take time and you will have to work hard.

Nothing quite like more work for less payoff.

If you are building a site with returning visitors I would be more interested in using the shorter or easier to remember domain name. Domain name keywords aren't nearly as important as they used to be.

Depends if you want a national monster truck rally or just a regional city, having inbound links using the search phrase inbound to your main page or
secondary pages. Use the http://tools.seobook.com/general/keyword/
