Why are Adsense cheques so slow?

Ive noticed Adsense cheques take around 5-6 weeks to arrive, where as other cheques from the states only take around ten days...anyone know the reason for this?

they used to send mine out in like 5-6 days.

It all depends on where you live. I noticed US base publishers get their checks faster that foreign based publishers. Maybe there is extra processing involved with foreign checks...

It has been a long time since I had a cheque from Adsense. EFT is the way to go!

I live in Maine and I frequently find that my checks don't arrive until the last few days of the month. It always arrives just not as soon as Google says.

It's just the monthly joy of seeing those big checks in the mail box and getting to take them to the bank. It is that one moment when there is a tangible artifact that says, hey your site is a success.

Top Ten Reasons why I prefer Adsense Cheques to EFT...

10: I collect the stamps off the envelops.

9: I re-use the envelops to save paper.

8: I save 10 cents each time on checks verse EFT, so over 12 months, that $1.20. Im planning to invest this.

7: I heard Chris was giving away an Ivory Backscratcher to the most "useless" post of 2006.

6: Im in love with the mail main.

5: Im in love with the guy at the bank who cashes my cheques.

4: I thought EFT was some sort of government conspiracy.

3: I like getting angry when I have to wait week after week for my cheques to turn up.

2: I thought if I used EFT, I might get HIV.
