View Full Version : PR Drop - Wouldn't normally ask

I would not normally ask questions about PR, however curiosity has gotten the better of me.

I just noticed that the PR of a previous PR3/4 site has gone to 0. Everywhere I can check it shows it at 0. Fluctuations are normal, but it shows 0 on ever datacentre and crucially, DP shows it as being 0 since September. It has healthy backlinks and I am at a loss to explain why it has dropped. Most predictor tools show it it will not increase.

It is not banned, most of the traffic comes from Google and the site runs Adsense.

Any thoughts? http://www.umdtalk.co.uk

Do you have a Google sitemaps account setup for the site?

Yes (I have an account setup, I have not submitted the sitemap yet).

So I'm assuming nothing awry is being reported in Sitemaps then.

You just gotta be patient then I guess. If you are getting traffic from Google and they are reporting backlinks it could just be a hiccup. I wouldn't then worry until after the next PR Update, if you're still at 0 then.

How weird! All online checkers are showing 0. 3 is the last known stable value.

Something similar happened to me, although only with my subpages. My homepage stayed healthy, while the PR of all my subpages dropped from PR3/4 to 0. Still haven't found out why, either :(

It is odd. Traffic is up though so it is not having any adverse affect.

I get PR 3 as well.

I recently had a traffic spike and noticed I had claimed the #2 keyword spot for a keyword I had been targetting. DP still shows N/A for all keywords spots.

C'est la vie! :)

Following up, an allinurl shows links for umdtalk.co.uk, but not for www.umdtalk.co.uk.

I have it setup in my Google account to show the non www. version in the SERPs so it seems to have transferred over to that too.

Traffic still unaffected, even moved to #2 spot for 'umd' and #1 for 'sony umd' (without quotes).

Gone to the source - http://groups.google.com/group/Google_Webmaster_Help-Tools/browse_thread/thread/4b7533ac4bd1afb6

Seems I am not the only one seeing adverse results from making the switch.
