are you using ClearType or Standard type fonts?
I like the ClearType myself, but from what I've read, it kinda gives you a false impression of what your site looks like because not evenone is running these nice anti-alaised (sp?) fonts.
I can't stand ClearType and have turned it off. It makes things look too blurry for me.

I've always liked the "Macish" look that cleartype gives...just never knew you could turn it on for XP.

I have cleartype enabled, can't stand the way fonts look without it.

No, shouldn't come default on XP. At least not when you reload a machine from scratch.

Right click on your desktop. Go to Properties>Appearance>Effects>and then change it from "standard" to "cleartype".

i downloaded a ClearType tweak tool from MS last night and played around with it. Can't say that it looked better. i noticed that i was squinting trying to read things after i turned it on. ended up turning it off.
I didn't even know what they were until I saw this thread! I had a look at ClearType and decided I preferred Standard. For some reason ClearType just reminds me of old computers, perhaps because the old ones I used to use at school looked similar?
