Site Maps???

I tried using googles site map tool to make a site map but i was completely lost and ended up giving up so i have no clue how the hell that worked, then i tiried jus doing it manually by just listing all the urls i wanted on site map and submitted it to google webmaster tools but it keeps saying there are errors that its not in the correct format im lost i did it in html, xml but still dont know what to do.

this is a rudimentary one but i resorted to doing it that simple as i couldnt figure out any other way and even this says errors on it

Google Sitemaps must be in a specific format. Otherwise they don't work. You'll need to read up on Google's format (http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/docs/en/protocol.html) or use a tool to make a sitemap for you.

i tried using their tool to generate a site map but i was extremely lost and gave up is their any other VERY SIMPLE tool i can use to generate a site map PLEASE
