They're different and should not be used in the same way with the same sites.

On my sites AdSense works best. Amazon is ok, but AdSense makes more eCPM.

With Amazon, people have to actually place an order to get money. With Adsense, they just have to click a link and you make money!

I have not had good luck with Amazon personally. I have had only one order placed in a year. Part of the problem I think is that, like previously stated, people have to actually place an order and the whole "cookies" thing often doesn't help. I am trying the new beta part of Amazon for better placement of objects to see if that helps but I have seen that many of the products placed in the ads do not relate to the site at all. According to the new beta program that is what is supposed to happen based on algorithms and stuff. I will believe it when I actually see a sale.
