Im sure this is a simple setting but for the life of me I cant find it!

I want to make it so that when you have a private message you get a popup. Can someone tell me where in the vb control panel I set this.

Also, can you set it to send a PM when someone joins? Or is it a hack?

I think its a user setting, not a vb setting. Meaning users set it in their options.

Hello

Yes the pop up deal is set in the "Edit Options" under the Private Messaging it says:
If you are browsing the forums when you receive a new private message, the system can pop-up a notification box informing you of the new message.

Show New Private Message Notification Pop-upI have no idea about the PM when someone joins.

Hope it helps.

Funny, I dont have that setting under Edit Options -> Private Messages...I've got this:

Instant Messaging Support - Check for New Private Messages
Selecting 'Yes' for this option will cause the system to check the private message database every time a user loads a page, and will display a visible prompt if a new message has just been saved.

There is no option under user settings either. I've got private messaging permissions in there but thats only about how many messages you can store etc
