Recommendation for a PHP script?

I have a client that wants to take an existing mailing list in Access and allow the members to login and message each other. I would think they would want to post some notices and whatnot as well. Not sure they'd want something like forums though.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :p

Forums are the default form for that type of communication. Barring that I think you'd want to do something custom. If you limited it to just public notices, a shout box type of thing, and private messages, it wouldn't be too complicated.
