I discovered some baffling PR results from the Google Toolbar for a site I maintain (i.e. - the ol' day job). Now, I know everyone's been on extreme freak out mode about Google for the past few weeks, but please bear with me.

Tonight I see that the home page (http://www.techworthy.com/index.htm) has a PR of 7, like it has for the past 4 months or so. No change there.

However, I find this page (http://www.techworthy.com/TechEdge/index.htm), a top-level directory page within the site, shows a fat PR = 8.

I've looked around the rest of the site, I can't find anymore rebel PR=8s.

Question for ya'll's out there reading this here message with the toolbar - do you see the same thing?

If yes, then do you think it's in the process of partially updating PR for the site, therefore the homepage will also get bumped to a 8? Other thoughts?

Thank you, and good night. I'm up too late. [yawn]

I see the same as you.

It does have 854 backlinks...

But then the homepage has 1,100 and is only a 7.

Perhaps you've had a few high PR sites linking to your directory?

Also, your home page could be a very high 7 almost about to tip into an 8. Your directory page may have just toppled over into an 8.

The toolbar has of course been acting weird for awhile so it might just be some bug.

Thanks for the insights.
