There are discussions going on everywhere including Matt Cutts Blog about the problems Google is having indexing pages properly.

Have any of you had problems with your sites being indexed by Google and are they still having problems picking up your pages ?

With a sitemap, no.
Without one, yes.

But I could be wrong. Submitting a sitemap for my forum site doubled the pages crawled in two days from 103 to 200+.

Yeah Ive been having a few issues and all myy sites use sitemaps. It has been a weird few weeks too with some pages on other sites bouncing all over creation.

One of these days Google will get it right and CONSISTENT!

Only on 1 site. However, I think it may have tripped some sort of google filter. This site has about 350 pages and gogle has indexed 14. But google has recorded 2500 hits this month. wierd.

But on the other had I launched a new site that has 750 pages, and google already has 1/2 of them in only 4 days and only with about 10 backlinks.

Check your indexed pages in MSN and Yahoo versus Google and report them back here guys and gals!

Here are the numbers for this forum:

I am not sure what's going on but number of indexed pages
is decreased
(only default page is indexed)
and and in last few days nuber of visists reffered by Google is dramatically dropped for my site.
Is there anything I can do about it ?

Same thing has happened to my site. 250 pages indexed for 2 months, then slowly dwindled to 10. Im guessing Ive tripped off a filter in google algo. So the only thing I guess you can do is wait...

It has little to do with filters unless you are engaged in reciprocal link directories or automated reciprocal linking networks!

It has more to do with Google programming flaws and computing capacity, Google needs to merge with a data center giant like IBM to compete with Microsoft who is investing billions in new data centers!

I think it is fair to say that at present any figures you get from Google could be considered unreliable at best.
