Have any of you guys ever paid for content/articles? I'm thinking about doing this but would like your opinions. Also what are some good sites to get this done at?
THanks everyone.

I've done it, to good success.

I pay people to write articles for me on my environmental chemistry website. I'm having very good success with it. Just make sure to get writers to sign copyright release forms for articles you purchase.

Where do you find your Authors KLB?
Kyle
In my case I advertise for writers directly on my site. This helps keep the number of applications I get down to a manageable number. My site also tends to attract well qualified writers due to the nature of my site. You might need to use a website that helps put you in touch with writers.

You could also consider posting a want ad at sites that cater to freelance writers and list paying markets, such as: http://www.freelancewriting.com/careercenter.php

I've paid for content too. In my case, I specifcally seek out and target these individuals rather than relying on freelance sites. There are two reasons for this, first, I want to make sure that the people I'm paying really produced the work, and second I believe it gives me a higher quality selection to choose from.
You could also ask at sites like these, just a thought.

I was actually looking into using them once, but I found too many errors in the article I wanted. Anything from using enumerated adverbs to repetitive sentence structure, and as a grammar nut I cannot stand this. I was informed that I could make changes such as this, but I figured that with my website's staff of five and some volunteers I can rip up someone else's article without paying to do it.
If I buy content I want it to be grammatically correct, and I have yet to find something that honestly meets my expectations. I don't mind if someone submits something and I have to put it through copy. However, when I pay for it I would hope I could at least same some time.
Grammar nut huh? I accused my wife of being a grammar nerd a few days ago. One of my writers has a MFA in English and my wife has a degree in English and is an English/Russian translator. The two of them were cross editing each other (through me) on the same article over commas. I'm afraid that if I let them in the same room together with an article to edit the two of them would start discussing the finer points of commas for hours on end.
