Perhaps this should be posted in a design forum, but it has to do with SEO. I am planning on updating my website with a full-face lift with redesign. The current layout simply displays on the home page 6 products that we sell. Listed below the product names are related blurbs. The links to the product leads the potential customer to sub-pages, which provides more related detailed information.

What is the best way to do this and be optimized? Should I list all my products on the homepage as I have done before and keep the blurbs? Should I create an Amazon type-site where the homepage offers links to the specific products with no explanation?

The blurbs on your homepage cannot hurt -- but your subpages dedicated to each individual product offer your best chance of getting high SE rankings.

I see that your sites have quite a large amount of text for the home page then you offer links to perticular areas. Have you found having large amounts of body on the home page more effective then having small blurbs with links straight to the product page?

It depends on what your goal is with a homepage.

If I want the homepage to rank highly for something, I put in alot of text.

If I don't, I don't.
