From what I've heard, yes CPC is higher with Yahoo but clickthrough rate is lower.

Well yahoo isn't taking non-us traffic right now so you're better off with Google until they do.

I have heard that Yahoo pays more per click, but there ads are less targeted resulting in less clicks.

I have also heard that many publishers are have a very bumpy ride with trying the Yahoo beta publisher network.

My take on the whole thing is to wait until Yahoo gets more established and starts taking traffic outside of the U.S. to try their advertising program. I don't want to get a bunch of clicks from the U.K. and have them not count for anything, or any other country for that matter.

People shouldn't only look at CPC when trying to compare these two networks. CPC is only part of the story. The CTR is also important. If ads are not well targeted and as a result the CTR is low, a high CPC is irrealevant. What people need to care about is the eCPM of these two networks.

Right, and with Yahoo only letting in U.S. traffic your eCPM could be a lot lower than it should be if you have a good amount of traffic from non U.S. countries. I think Yahoo may end up being a good advertising program but it just seems a waste to me to join right now if you have very much foreign traffic. If you are 95% U.S. traffic then it would be more sensible, providing the ads are targeted to your site.
