I'm looking for a great PHP AWS script that has mod_rewrite features built-in. It can be free or for purchase.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

I found GhostScripter, but their charge is outrageous. $75 per domain...

I predict Nintendo will be along in due course to tell you the folly of your plans however...

Check out the tutorial (http://www.websitepublisher.net/article/aws-php/1) on this very site to get you started with your own AWS script and do some Googleing to get a few other hints and tips. With the article on here it really does make it simple to put your own script together if you've got even a small knowledge of PHP.

Alternatively, if you aren't into developing yourself then bite the bullet and spend the $75 on the Ghostscripter module and speed up the process of building your AWS sites.

Freekrai on this forum has some AWS software available for free: http://www.freekrai.net/affiliate-software/asm2/ - it uses mod_rewrite.

IMO, you should visit this site for AWS script. I think you will find it useful.

Anyone using Ghostscripter?

Am wishing I had bought Ghostscripter now as I've been banging my head against a brick wall for the past two days trying to build an AWS remote shopping cart with REST. The only tutorial I could find online was using SOAP and wasn't much help. It's been a learning curve with XML parsing and PHP that's for sure and I still haven't quite cracked it yet. To be honest the amount of money I'm likely to make even with the shopping cart on my customised script is minimal but it must be a developer thing, once I've started trying to get the hang of XML over HTTP I'm not giving up until I nail it.

the cart is pretty easy to build in REST, but I banged my head against the wall a few times figuring it out.

and SOAP with EWS4 is slow compared to REST. I have an associate here in town who does all his sites with SOAP and he had to cache everything due to the slowness compared to REST.

I am using Ghostscripter right now on a site and it has its share of problems. Inserting nodes does not work correctly. Pricing only shows up half the time and or is incorrect. The search fuction and drop down does not work at all.

I've got it building the querystring and everything, I'm just having a bit of bother getting it to loop through the parsed XML and give me the CartID and the HMAC back out of it. One more effort at it tonight and if I don't get it it's getting put down to the bottom of the development list ;)

Does AWS-sites normally make any income?

Since Nintendo and Mr. Rats ruined the internet, they don't really make all that much any more. They'll usually pay for the domain name, though.

no idea why people keep saying AWS is dead. Sure you are not going to make $1million bucks off it but you can easily make $500 a month doing a whole lot of nothing. My 2 cents.

With that said if you use a generic script that looks like crap and everyone else is using then yeah you probly wont make anything.

Indeed - I typically make $100-150 a month from Amazon/AWS with no effort.

Shhhh the more competition, the more Google's pressured to kick AWS sites' arses!! :P

Hi.

Does google index pages from aws-sites?

James
01-11-2006, 08:49 AM
Yes, but they've been banning or lowering the rankings of recognized AWS-sites.

there is always MSN and Yahoo when Google leaves you for dead.
