Anyone have any techniques they use to filter out the URLs served?

I'm looking for stuff that I think would interest my users and secondly looking at the links to see what their sites are like. If they're not selling anything of a decent value, or their website looks a bit "shabby", I figure that they probably don't have that much money to spend and so their ads wont earn as much for me. I therefore give them the boot.

Is this generally correct?

I look for ads that have no relevance whatsoever with the site. Other than that, you're most likely attempting to screen hundreds if not thousands of advertisers...

I would leave that up to Google, they are good at what they do

Even their technology can't beat human intervention ;)
