Does anyone know any good open source mailing list provider.

I tried installing phplist from www.phplist.com, the installation was successful however there is a log in problem that I encountered. It says that my Ip address has changed and I have to log in again.

It prompts me everytime to log in again whenever I click on the links in the control panel. Hence I am unable to import my list of emails and successfully send out a newsletter.

If anyone knows how to solve this issue, that will be fantastic. If not maybe someone can recommend an alternative for me.

I second Dada - I use it and love it

I've looked at phplist also - but it always seemed to be having recurring security problems - I don't know if they have got these fixed :D or not - but its worth reading through the site to see when the last one was.

By the sounds of your post though - it looks like they have made it so secure - you can't even login :D

Another free mailing list manager is: MyMail (http://www.phpnerds.com/scripts/MyMail)

Here's a list of mailing list managers-

There's also another one http://www.sympa.org/

I've used both MyMail & Dada and neither can handle my volume. Dada is the better of the two though.

Would using dadamail be the same concept as a newsletter program? Or is a "mailing list" a different concept?

"Mailing List" is a more general term than "Newsletter", though they are often considered the same in regard of software.

Chris: I am the present owner of the MyMail script, so I would be very glad if you could point out areas where MyMail needs improvement.

It just could scale to the volume I needed. Namely 120,000 emails a day.

How long does it take to send out 120,000 emails? /OT
