I think I can remember someone on here saying that Google told him to take away the pics that were right next to his adsense links? I have been experimenting with putting little thumbnails next to my adsense links and have seen a definate increase in clicks (and it looks much better). Does anyone know if Google has a real problem with this? I don't really fancy getting banned :)

Yes, I think I read somewhere too about someone being asked to take the pictures down. Would come under their 'not enticing people to click links' rules I think.

There is a thread here just to that effect, and someone had been specifically asked to remove images. I am not sure that pictures can be said to entice people to click, but the CTR does increase with images.

The argument run was why risk upsetting Google and losing your account

Yeah I'm not going to risk it. It's a pity though, it makes a big difference!

I think you are supposed to have a border or something around them. Basically, Google doesn't like it when people make the images look like they are part of the ad.
