HEh, I wasn't aware they'd officially announced it. They still haven't giving me the necessary info so I can start posting.

I'm going to be covering many aspects of website publishing... and just so you know I'm not trying to steal Cutter's thunder, I've been in negotiations for this for around 6 weeks. ;)

Heheh, when I launched my blog I thought it was wierd that there are at least 10 SEO blogs out there but none dedicated just to website publishing.

Cool - hopefully this Sitepoint blog will actually be worth reading :) While I enjoy the business one (Andrew whatshisname), the others always seem too... 'Hey, it's Sitepoint and that's all you need to know'. Ifyagetme.

Oh, and I should say: about time Sitepoint gave Chris a higher profile beyond a 'mere' forum mod.

Pity their focus with their books is on freelance coders/developers etc. A WebPub book from Chris would kick ***.

Totally agree with MarkB about giving Chris a higher profile sooner, should've done it aaages ago imho ;)

Looking forward to your posts

Just out of interest... Do they pay you for this Chris?

Chris
10-14-2005, 05:40 AM
yes, but its not much.... and SitePoint did ask me to write a book a few years ago... when they changed their mind I took what I had written and made this site.

When can we expect your first post, or are you going to make us wait and see?

Do you know why they changed thier mind?

Chris

I plan to write my first post today.

And I believe they changed their mind because at the time they were focusing more on consultants rather than business owners.

Chris - you should blog about your real estate, stock, and other investments. I'd love to read about those (too).

im getting tired of blogs, I think there just a fad right now

Cutter

Blogs are tiring, because there is a mountain of new information on them every day ;)

I'm only interested in the blogs by experts; I have no interest in the whole personal & political blogging thing.

Ditto, Cutter.

I don't think that blogs are gonna die off any time soon. It's a new website format. Just like article sites, directory sites, etc.

Considering it's taken 5-6 years for blogs to become popular, I don't see them dying off anytime soon. I love 'em, and think they're one of the best things about the net right now.
