Search for "compare wireless phone" in Google. A few links down, letstalk.com shows up (my major competitor). When I click to go to the letstalk.com site through the search engine, its PageRank shows as 0. However, when I direct connect to the letstalk.com website, it's PageRank is 5.

I am COMPLETELY not understanding something.

How can this be? Also, how can the VERY popular search term "wireless phones" only list one website with a PageRank more than 0? I thought Google listed results by PageRank -- I've always assumed this. The top site has a PageRank of 4, nothing else has a PageRank.

The toolbar is buggy.

Generally what I've found is that if you visit a site, use the toolbar to select the backlinks, then hit the back button, PR shows normally.

Pure genius. Curious, Chris: How long would it take you to select keywords for my site to focus? I could implement it into the site, I just need to know which keywords to focus. I would pay you...

The toolbar seems to trip on root domains quite a bit (buggy as Chris says).

What I do is delete a trailing slash or default document and the PR shows up. So, if no PR shows up for this:

http://www.example.com/

or

http://www.example.com/index.html

the this will work:

http://www.example.com
