Hi all,

Does anyone know if Amazon allows you to just fetch an image from AWS, and display it? Or do you have to have a link on the same page?

Cheers,
Mike

Pretty sure you can. Is this something you want to do on the fly, or...? Cos all you should need is their product code, and then put it into a pre-constructed IMG url :)

Yup, something I want to do on the fly...

I'm wanting to do it exactly as you say :)

I'm planning to show the image and a description (my words), with a link to a page that will link to Amazon. If ya get that!

http://aaugh.com/imageabuse.html is a good resource for learning about Amazon's images.

Interesting link, thanks James. I think I will use the help from that page to display the images.

So its not against Amazon's TOS or anything to display just the images on a page without a link to an amazon page?

Cheers.

I can't see anything in it that could be seen as such; as long as the only modification is resizing the image, you should be fine. Amazon's usually pretty good about this, anyways.

James that is a great link thanks.

Mike, I do this on my aws sites (using the webpub script) - Page 1 show 10 product images that link to a detail page which then links to Amazon. There are no direct links from page 1.
