Anyone ever try stacking a Google Ad Links unit underneath or on top of a normal adsense unit? For instance two 728 wide units stacked?

I have seen that done but it looked pretty bad. Basically, a big square block of text ads. They were just the default colors and stuff so maybe doing some blending would help.

I have thought about staking two high in like a right-hand column on a tall page though. That might be OK.

Do you know what I mean by ad link units? It'd only be making the ad slightly larger.

Oh, well I guess I dont. I'll have to hit my Adsense account and check it out!

OK, got it.

That might not be too bad. Maybe if the border on the text add was dropped so it looked like it all belonged as one add? If that makes sense. Kind of a way to sneak in some more links without placing a complete banner there.

Good idea.

Interesting approach, Chris... Might have to give that a go.

Yeah, I have seen the 728 long one placed just below a 728x90 adsense and it seems to be quite a smart idea. Haven't tried it myself but I have been putting adlinks at the bottom of my articles and they do OK.

Aren't you only allowed one text link unit a page?

If thats true it doesn't matter, there would be just one on the page. It'd just be underneath an adsense unit.

I think I read your first post too fast ;)

I haven't tried it yet, but I might. I still have a few pages I haven't used adlinks on yet.

I tried it and I think it works!

I made the colors similar to the site and the ads still look like ads but the links now look like a navigation menu right under the ads.

See how it goes....

This is a portal page to an Affiliate network that I am learning on. I started putting this together before I learned about the No no's of using subdomains and the benefits of reseller accounts. Figure I'll make the mistakes here and then do better on the next go around.

Hint: If you are not getting any links at all after about 5 months, check and make sure that you didnt cut and past the affiliate information out of the email with the "." at the end. :D

Yup, that is exactly what I was envisioning. Then its only a matter of testing if the adlinks bar ads to the site's revenue more than say, a footer adsense unit, especially if it takes away from clicks on the main header adsense bar.
