I dont understand my stat program, im using Awstats and the total number of visits(not unique) on Awstats is much lower then the impressions on google adsense, which is on all pages of my site. Which is right?

Total number of visits is counting people.

Google Adsense impressions are how many times the ad is displayed.

One person may go to more than 1 page on your website.

so what do I look under in my stats program to see the impressions? pages? there isn't an impression coloum in Awstats

I believe that pages are your impressions.

thats what I thought at first but my Awstats is MUCH MUCH higher then adsense

Do you use frames?

Log analyzers have weaknesses in that they read everything that a server records (which is everything) and so without sophisticated filters they often produce skewed results. Its why I don't like them.

That, and AdSense does not count default ads in the impression count - or that was my understanding.

no im not using frames, but I have lots of pages with flash files, would the flash be counted with it? like a page with a flash would be counted as 2? What should I look at then? When I apply for new networks should I use my adsense or Awstats?

Can you take a screenshot of your "Summary" and post it?

But no, it would not count as two. It would count as two "hits", not pages.

41,372 is your impressions. If Adsense is on every single page then that is how many impressions you should have with Adsense.

However, some things that may affect it are:

- Pages not being fully loaded
- AdSense defaults (I believe)

There is probably a margin of error also.

thats the thing, only 15,000 for adsense and few pages dont have adsense, and google cant have that many defaults
