View Full Version : Questions about Google from Newbie

I am new to the internet site business. Both of my sites are intended to be content-driven. Both MSN and Yahoo have listed each of my subpages for my first site on their directory, thus enhancing my "saturation". Google only has my main page listed. Will they too eventually list all of the pages or should they be submitted separately? Or will they automatically index them like the other sites?
I know this seems like such a basic question but I am trying to learn and have been by reading a lot on this site. It is a great site to get a lot of info from and really appreciate all of your input. The goals of the sites aren't necessarily to make a lot of money -- I do have affiliate ads and Adsense on them -- but would like to eventually break even on them. The biggest lesson I am learning is maintain quality content, be patient, and things will take care of themselves with content. Correct?
Any input would be helpful.
Thanks,

Jaybird

Yep Google will/should eventually list them but I find Google take their time to do so. MSN and Yahoo are a lot faster so what you are seeing is to be expected (from my experience).

If Google has seen your front page then the Google spider will have seen the links to most of your other pages too or will have noted them, to come and have a look at some stage in the future.

I think there are certain pages google pays close attention to (hell, I *know* there are) get a good front page link/ or site-wide link and you'll get crawled by google in under 24 hours.

Welcome to Website Publisher Forums jaybird691, Google is still the King of search engines but sometimes it does take a long time to get all of your site indexed. Like Cutter saids get backlinks to speed things up.
