Congratulations to all you Brits!

EDIT:
Congratulations to those of you who care. Incka just informed me over IM that he doesn't care at all who got the Olympics because he hates nationalism. :D

Thats funny!

If anything is meant to be none nationalistic you would of thought the Olympics is. That said, it is nice to beat the French, articularly after Chiracs comments over our food

How is the olympics non nationalistic? Each country has a team, etc. If the comittee had been truely fair it would have gone to one of the poorest countries in the world funded by the wealth of the rich countries to improve their economies that we have expoited.

Yep, very pleased we got it, and yes, nice to beat the french after Chirac's comments :)

Will be good for London infrastructure, though it would appear you will have to pay for it Mark with £20 increase on annual council tax :( (Well, not just you :) Londoners in general )

I'm really pleased! Mainly due to the comment by Chirac. I know we're not supposed to get political on here (remember Sean?) but considering the cruelty used to produce a lot of French dishes, I'm glad we don't come close to sharing their "cuisine"

... Can't beat a freshly cooked French baguette though ;)

Well I'd call that morality rather than politics Rich, and I'd agree, a lot of their dishes are excedingly cruel, but I'm sure a lot of British ones are too...

I couldn't belived it when they said "... will be hosted by the city of London" :)

Great news, great for the country, especially the east end of London.

I actually laughed when I heard it. It's good for Brits though. I spent the last 1 1/2 years living in London, and as much as I would love to attend the events, I'd hate to be living/working anywhere near central London. Publis transport was already a nightmare on the best of days, imagine with the influx of people!

I didn't think they would get it, and it didn't really seem the public we behind it. But good on em, good luck for 2012!
