Yesterdays CPM was half that of 30th June. Is this just a start of the month thing?

Normally. Also some advertisers might cut advertising this weekend as it is a holiday weekend here in the US.

It's still low now, it's only $1.14, it used to be $2.40.

i'm gettinga lot less per click with adsense than usual, don't know if it's related in any way...

Probably not as bad as my $0.02 clicks with adsense. I've had to drop adsense altogether for now. I'll check it out again soon to see if anything's improved.

Google is actually on an upswing for me the last two days -- back from a big drop-off on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
