Hi All,

I just hope someone has a solution for this as this is really pissing me off.

For the last 2 days when I do a search on google, lets say 'web hosting' once the result page comes out I get a popunder of a hosting website. I've used adaware but to no avail. How in the world can I get rid of it? It happens every now and then, not on eevery search.

Thanks

It is most definitely spyware. Adaware just isn't the best.

Try running Spybot Search and Destroy (also a free download).

I use Spybot. I'm always amazed at how much stuff it finds. It's also good for preventing stuff like this happening in the first place.

I download a spy killer but all it does is tells me how many pieces of spy or ad software there is on my pc - 68, then tells me to delete them I need to buy it.

I'm quite good at finding them myself, but there one that is really annoying me.

Whenever a page has the work 'host' in it it turns into a link to a host. And I can't find it so I'm going to use Chris's tip. I'll tell you if it works.

try spybot search and destroy -- its free and will remove things without you needing to buy.

Though it hasn't helped. The problem is still there. Oh how I want to kill the *** that planted this on my computer.

Out of curiosity, what sites do the popups load? I had a similar issue a while back that kept causing porn sites to load. I ended up having to rename a dll file to stop it. I thought it would cause problems with IE as it was an IE file, but it didn't (thankfully).

I had the same problem a few months back with Yahoo, not google. When ever I went into the directory of yahoo and click on a link, it redirected the link and took me to the same site. I was so pissed that I tracked down the site owner using tracert and I ripped the ISP appart. With in a few hours the site was shut down, but I was still left to solving the problem. I used spybot, adware along with mcaffee. I was pleased to say the Nortan solved the problem. After a full scan it found two viruses on my machine that McAfee did not find (patterns were all updated). It deleted the file and I was cleared.
