I am having 1st thing in my pages body tag as the leaderboard code of casalemedia
Can it in any way adversly effect my search engine rankings?

I also asked this on SP forums but did not get much input so I am trying my luck here

i'd say with 99% certainty that it would not have any effect at all.

That is ok, because the crawlers will get your first text without tags

thanks for the replies ... just wondering that do the search bots crawl or index in the ad codes in the webpages ?

They index the source of the page in it's entirety.

They just don't care about adcodes and things like that.
