want to build a community website for a group of west indians in my state. This website will have a directory of businesses, Museums, organizations etc...

I would like to have a calendar of events, photo gallery, and articles/interviews. I want to have a section where the users just fill out a form with with a date/music pereference, etc.. and a list pops up.IT can also list restaurants and hotels in the are with ratings on the restaurants. Basically I would like a user to come to the website and plan their weekend/vacation on the site. I also would like the opp to work with airline agencies and hotels for people to search.

+I also want to have a community forum. A place to shop for arts and craft. I was inspired by metromix.com can someone tell me how i need to start. I"d hate to get a bunch of different softwares where the members have to register for the forum, register for the classified ads, etc... I would like for them to be able to register once and have access to every section.

Also a section for colleges. Each colleges can have its own club in the website where they can promote their events, meetings, etc...

Where do I start. I have a design, I have the businesses, I have the members but how do I build such a community. Is there a software that is close to this? HELP make this reality come true!

I believe, http://vbulletin.com has what you are looking for.

I am not sure, but I believe there are already premade addons for most of those requests. If not, they can be programmed...

PhotoPost PHP (http://www.qksrv.net/click-834679-6338634) is nice photogallery script that can integrate directly into your vbulletin userbase. I highly recommend it.
